Sample experience:
Creation and implementation of a growth strategy for an integrated financial services model, working with senior executives at
two of the largest financial services companies in South Africa.
Management of the creation of a new model for an investment group, working with the Head of Strategy and CEO.
This work included the creation of a new business structure based on investment boutiques and central support services,
and working through the new profit-share based remuneration model with the investment professionals.
Financial analysis of a manufacturing operation looking to outsource production. The calculation of the marginal cost of
manufacture enabled a successful outsourcing negotiation, and a saving of nearly R1m a year to the client.
Design of a 5 year business strategy for a healthcare administrator, and subsequent business process re-engineering.
This included the structuring of long term strategic plans, and designing a programme to put them into practice.
Projected savings from new processes of R22 million per annum were signed off by the client.
Analysis of client retention issues for a life insurer, resulting in a detailed plan enabling them to address these issues
causing policies to lapse. The implementation plan created addressed 10 separate areas for improvement in retention, and
the annual report immediately following our work showed lapses at inception down from 18% to 13%, and a 3 month lapse
rate down from 30% to 22%.
Management of the implementation of a low income market entry strategy for a division of a major life assurer.
The project included product design, marketing materials, business processes, back office and staff recruitment.
We created and handed over the pilot business to the client for roll-out. The creation of the pilot business from
scratch took 7 months; the client thought it would take 12.
